The best camping chairs should share one thing in common… comfort. Aside from comfort, there are other things to consider: price, portability and even durability. The awesome chairs featured in this post possess at least one of those three qualities. If you want to get an early look, we’ve listed them below:
- Poepore brand foldable camping chair
- Best Choice Zero Gravity Chairs
- Best Choice Products Outdoor Hanging Curved Steel Chaise Lounge Chair
We’ll review each of these chairs, including the pros and cons of each. Finally, this will lead us to the best and most unique of all. First, lets take a look at a classic!
The Classic
When you think of the best camping chairs, you’ll probably think of the lightweight folding type. This Poepore brand foldable camping chair is like the ones we own by the design. However, this one is more deluxe than ours. We bought ours a long time ago, and unfortunately, I don’t remember the details. We’ve had ours for about six years now. We only use these type of chairs for fishing or to accommodate guests. Here’s the pros and cons:
Pros:
- Lightweight
- Collapsible/space-saving
- Very portable/most come with carrying bag
- Typically very affordable
Cons
- Not the most comfortable, especially for a prolonged period of time
- Most do not have a reclining position
No Gravity, No Problem!
Look around your campground and you’ll likely see the majority of folks lounging in zero gravity chairs. These are one of the best camping chairs for a good reason. While not quite as portable as the first ones on our list, they make up for it with comfort. They can recline in many positions to nearly laying flat. Additionally, most come with accessories, like cupholder trays that you can also have room for phone storage. We are on our second set in about five years. But, keep in mind, we do full-time and sit in them every day, quite often. We purchased the Best Choice brand and have been quite pleased.
Pros:
- Comfortable
- Reclines to many positions
- Cupholders and phone holders
- Fold up for easier storage
- Better bargain when buying a set of two
Cons
- Can be a bit heavy
- Subject to snapped bungees or fabric tearing at seams and eyelets
The Best Camping Chairs… Surprise!
The best camping chairs are not really camping chairs. Huh!? You may ask yourself. The surprise is the Best Choice Products Outdoor Hanging Curved Steel Chaise Lounge Chair Swing w/Built-in Pillow and Removable Canopy. We know, that’s certainly a mouth full. We commonly call ours the “hanging chair” or “swinging chair.”
This was a birthday gift for my wife long before our we started our full-time RVing journey. Eventually, she decided that she missed it so bad that we grabbed it out of storage. It’s so comfortable to sit in, that we’ve been hauling it with us for about two years now. We have worked out a good system for hauling it in our RV. We put the stand and legs on our bed, and the chair part rides in the back on the couch. Okay, so it’s not the most portable, but certainly the most comfortable and always turns a few heads!
Pros:
- Very comfortable
- Very durable
- Swings… who doesn’t love to swing!?
- Comes with a canopy
Cons
- Not very portable
- Heavy
